Coloured Siloxane Undercoat for Surface Preparation

Mapei Silancolor Base Coat is a coloured silicone resin-based paint in water dispersion, formulated with micro-granular quartz and selected fillers. It is designed to even out substrate absorption and promote adhesion of subsequent coats of paint and finishing materials from the Silancolor range.

• Packaging: 20 kg plastic drums.
• Colour: White or various colours using the ColorMap® automatic colouring system.
• Density: Approximately 1.58 g/cm³.
• Dry Solids Content: Approximately 67%.
• Application Temperature Range: +5°C to +35°C.
• Consumption: Approximately 0.3–0.5 kg/m² per coat, depending on substrate porosity.
• Recoat Time: 12–24 hours, ensuring the substrate is completely dry.
• Storage: 24 months in original unopened packaging, stored between +5°C and +30°C.

Application Instructions

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose materials, oils, or grease. Repair any cracks or damaged areas with suitable Mapei repair mortars.
2. Product Preparation: Silancolor Base Coat is supplied ready to use. Stir thoroughly before application.
3. Application: Apply evenly using a brush, roller, or spray. Protect the treated surface from rain for at least 12 hours after application.
4. Drying: Allow the primer to dry completely (12–24 hours) before applying Silancolor finishes.

Limitations

• Do not apply on metal surfaces.
• Avoid application on damp or uncured substrates.
• Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or above +35°C.
• Avoid application if rain is expected within 12 hours.

Cleaning of Tools

Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after use, before the product dries.
