Rubberised Bitumen Emulsion for Waterproofing and Damp-Proofing
Cromar Cromaprufe is a versatile, rubberised bitumen emulsion designed to prevent water ingress and dampness in walls and floors. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, it provides a waterproof membrane on concrete and brick foundations, retaining walls, and bridge abutments. Additionally, it serves as an effective adhesive for wood block floors and mosaics, and offers a key for plaster on challenging surfaces.

Product Details
- Colour: Brown upon application, dries to black.
- Coverage: Approximately 2 m² per litre per coat.
- Drying Time: Varies with temperature; ensure each coat is fully dry before applying the next.
- Application Methods: Brush.
- Storage: Store between 5°C and 40°C; protect from frost.
- Shelf Life: Minimum of 12 months in tightly sealed containers.
Application Instructions
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are sound, stable, and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, and loose matter.
- Dampening: For porous or hot dry surfaces, dampen with clean cold water before application.
- Mixing: Stir well before use.
- Application: Apply by brush. Do not apply to external surfaces in wet weather or if rain is threatened.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in confined areas.
- Multiple Coats: In multi-coat applications, allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next.
Limitations
- Not advised for interior walls below ground level due to potential exposure to free water or water pressure.
- Do not apply when rain is imminent.
- Avoid using gloss paints or oil-based products over Cromaprufe.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean tools with warm water before Cromaprufe sets. Once set, remove as much bitumen as possible by scraping, then clean with white spirit.
