Premium Oil-Based Mastic for Durable External Pointing

EVERBUILD® 103 Trowel Mastic is a high-quality, oil-based compound designed for perimeter pointing around wood and metal window and door frames. Trowel-applied, it forms a weather-tight seal, making it ideal for external applications. The added plasticiser improves adhesion and helps prevent cracking, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Product Details

  • Packaging: Available in 3kg and 6kg tubs

  • Application Method: Apply using a trowel
  • Drying Time: Surface skin forms in 7 to 28 days, depending on conditions
  • Overpainting: Can be overpainted with oil-based paints after skin formation

Application Instructions

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or other contaminants.
  2. Application: Use a thin pointing trowel or putty knife to apply the product, working it thoroughly into the joint to eliminate voids. Smooth the finish into a triangular fillet.
  3. Joint Dimensions: For fillet pointing between the frame and surround, joints should have a minimum width of 10 mm and a minimum depth of 6 mm.
  4. Overpainting: Once a surface skin has formed, the product can be fully protected with an undercoat and topcoat. Allow 28 days for drying before overpainting, using only oil-based paints.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for use on plastic frames or heat-absorbing glass
  • Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces
  • Not recommended for internal use

Cleaning of Tools

Clean tools immediately after use with white spirit. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
