Aquadry Masonry Protection Cream - Breathable Water-Repellent Treatment for Masonry

Colourless, Breathable Water-Repellent Treatment for Masonry Surfaces

Aquadry Masonry Protection Cream is a BBA-approved, deeply penetrating water-repellent cream designed to protect brick, stone, concrete, and mortar surfaces from rain penetration and dampness. Its unique cream formulation allows for single-coat application, providing long-lasting protection while maintaining the natural appearance of the substrate.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Deep Penetration: Penetrates up to 12 mm into masonry, ensuring effective water repellency beyond the depth of hairline cracks.
  • Breathable Protection: Allows moisture to escape from the masonry, preventing trapped dampness and associated issues.
  • Long-Lasting: Provides up to 25 years of protection with a single application, as certified by the British Board of Agrément (Certificate No. 16/5383).
  • Energy Efficiency: Helps reduce heat loss through walls by keeping masonry dry, enhancing thermal resistance.
  • Easy Application: Ready-to-use cream can be applied by brush, roller, or airless spray, with minimal dripping and mess.
  • Colourless Finish: Dries to a clear, natural finish, preserving the original appearance of the treated surface.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for use on brick, stone, concrete, mortar, render, roughcast, and pebbledash surfaces.

Product Details

  • Appearance: Thick, white cream (dries clear).
  • Density: Approximately 0.86 g/cm³.
  • Coverage: Approximately 5 m² per litre, depending on substrate porosity.
  • Packaging: Available in 5L and 20L containers.
  • Shelf Life: 12 months when stored in a cool, dry place, protected from frost.

Application Instructions

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Remove any loose mortar, dust, or biological growth.
  2. Crack Treatment: Hairline cracks up to 0.3 mm can be bridged by Aquadry. Wider cracks should be filled with suitable mortar incorporating Aquadry Repointing Additive No.1 or No.2.
  3. Application: Apply a single coat using a brush, roller, or airless spray. For detailed areas, such as around windows, use a brush.
  4. Drying Time: Aquadry starts to penetrate within 15–20 minutes. The whiteness fades as it absorbs, and the wall returns to its original appearance within 24–48 hours.
  5. Rain Resistance: Treated masonry becomes resistant to light rain after 2–4 hours. Full water repellency develops over time, with a noticeable beading effect appearing within two months.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for use on sealed or painted surfaces.
  • Intended for above-ground use only.
  • Do not apply if rain is forecast within 24 hours or if temperatures are below 5°C.
  • Application to structures containing high levels of salt should be avoided.
